Seek advice from the 'Information Commissioner's Office' (they
used to be known as 'The Data Protection Agency') to discover
whether you are required to be registered with them.
Do I need to register?
The Information Commissioner 's Office can offer guidance regarding
registration. They are able to supply you with a flow chart
which leads you through a series of questions regarding the
nature of your business. The results determine either a need
for registration (notification) or not. If you are required
to register, a small fee is payable.
See: the
online self assessment form, or visit this page to download
the self assessment guide, to determine if notification
is required.

Warning - Have you received a final notice?
Do not be mislead - there are a few commercial organisations
who use 'shock tactics' to encourage you to send your cheques
to them!
Read this before you send them any money!
