Details:
The EIB provides loans to banks
and leasing companies to help
provide finance to small
and medium sized companies.
The operators of EIB supported
schemes are currently Barclays
Bank, Barclays Mercantile, Lombard
Business Finance, Forward Trust
and Lloyds Bowmaker.
The EIF provides loan guarantees
in conjunction, for example,
with Barclays Bank's "Environment
Loan Facility". Involving
EIB and EIF, the facility was
designed to assist business
to finance investments that
produce a quantifiable environmental
benefit (energy usage, raw material
usage etc.).
